On Wednesdays throughout November, high school students have the opportunity to select a Featured Speaker who shares their career fields, aptitudes and skills that make it a good fit, and training or education required to enter the field.

Today Spanish students visited Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center in Toledo. They learned about Dia de Los Muertos, created a calavera and made their own Latin inspired lunch in Nana’s kitchen with the help of Chef Veronica.

The 8th grade class is raffling off a chance to win 2 Ohio State football tickets against Minnesota on November 18th. Tickets are 1 for $10, 3 for $20, and 7 for $50. $30 cash will also be given to the winner to help with parking at the game. Please see an 8th grader for a chance to win. Mari Hinojosa owner of Hinojosa’s Taqueria and son Luis, spoke to Spanish 3 students. She shared about her culture, what inspired her to open her restaurant and encouraged students to follow their dreams.
Red Ribbon Week is held every year in October to promote drug prevention and awareness. This year we will be honoring Red Ribbon Week from October 23-27. The theme this year is "Be Kind to Your Mind, Live Drug Free." We will be hosting a spirit week this week, see the following themes:
Elementary students experienced the opera and fire safety thus far this week! Thanks to Toledo Opera's Opera on Wheels program for their performance yesterday. The Southwest Hancock Joint Fire District brought a fire truck and talked about fire safety today. #HornetStrong
